The Breakdown 002

February 6th, 2012

Hello again guys! If this is your second time here for The Breakdown – MUCH thanks to you for returning… if this is your first time here – welcome! A few free presents for you loyal folks, today! For those of you that don’t know how to download from SoundCloud… click the little downward pointing arrow on the player you’re listening to!

Last Thursday, at the bottom of my first post, I gave a special mention to a guy that goes by the name of Poupon. Last week he took to Facebook and Twitter and let his fans know that once he reached 1000 likes on Facebook he would give away a free track! The 1000 likes on Facebook has now come and past – and the tune is here! :) If you took my advice last week and showed Poupon some love, chances are you’ve been groovin’ to this all weekend – and if you didn’t… shame on you, lol… and you’ve been missing out! But no worries because today it’s here for ya’ll!

Last week’s post was pretty bass heavy so I tried to even it out a little better today, with this next one being an exception. Next up is a free download from Dubstep duo, Zeds Dead. This tune has been on their SoundCloud for just under a month now, but they decided give it away for free after gaining 1500 new followers on Twitter last week. Great synths, crunchy basslines… signature Zeds Dead. Their Adrenaline EP saw it’s release a couple weeks ago on Beatport. Follow @whoszed and stay connected… maybe they’ll have more freebies!

Back to some fantastic House beats… Felix Cartal is doing big thangs lately! His latest release (Out December 13, 2011 ), Don’t Turn On The Lights feat. Polina is one of my favorite tunes right now. Amazingly high energy, GREAT GREAT vocal work…  kills the club. :) Laidback Luke even threw his spin on the huge track… turning it into a Dutch banger! Today, I’ve got a preview of his next release, which will be out tomorrow, February 7th, on Dim Mak Records!

I personally love Moombahton and Moombahcore. (SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION: My Moombahton/Moombahcore Mix from NYE) The genre is starting to gain a great following and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Before I get finished up here today, I’ve got one last preview for you guys. The first tune I posted last week was a killer Moombah-tune, so I’ll be trying to bring some exposure to music around the 110bpm mark. Today is a high energy, bouncy tune from Torro Torro! This one is coming out on February 21, so don’t forget about it! Torro Torro is a major player in the growth of Moombahton. They’re the creators of Toronto’s popular Moombahton events “SLOWED”. Get to know! Follow them on Twitter and keep your ears open for the next SLOWED event!
