To start, do any of you guys like really dirty electro. I mean like really, really f^&king dirrrrrty stuff. Who am I kidding? Of course you do and you’re going to love this one too. It’s produced by this duo from Tokyo (props dudes!), Shun and Hoshina Anniversary and is remixed by the one and only LaTourette. Love this guy, man! Make sure you check out his as well as Shun and Hoshina Anniversary’s Soundcloud pages for more awesome tuneage. Included in the post below are the original tracks as well as the rest of Shun and Hoshina’s EP released under Den Haku records.
While browsing for that LaTourette remix I also came across this remix of Crookers’ We Love Animals. As you may have already figured out I’m a huge fan of Crookers. This is pretty far off from the original but it’s got some fun funk to it and it makes me move. That’s all that matters in the end, right guys? Taar (the remixer) is also supported under Den Haku records.
Check out this preview by Sted-E & Hybrid Heights. It’s a really great upbeat track with some sweet hip-hop vocals, compliments of Mr. V. It’s part of their latest album, Sea to Sun which was released on June.26th. Since the release the single has already entered the Top 40 Billboard Magazine’s Dance Club Chart. You may remember Mr. V as he was featured on Fedde Le Grand’s Back & Forth (Love that track too! – also featured below). Remixes are on the way. The Todd Terry Remix was just released this week and there are more to come later this month from Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Ralphi Rosario. If you want to catch Sted-E and Hybrid Heights in action you can find them weekly at NYC rooftop club hotspot, Upstairs at The Kimberly.
DUDE!!! That’s what I said when I heard Kaskade drop this at Digital Dreams Festival last weekend. At first I was like “Man, I love this song. Promises is a great track from last summer. Too bad Alesso JUST dropped this like half an hour ago during his set… wait a second… Kaskade knows better than that… {DROP} Yup!” lol. I love the second drop with the vocals looped over the chorus. Very nice Ken Loi. Let’s be friends haha.
It’s been much too long since Mr. Wolfgang Gartner released an album. That time is soon to come and I cannot wait!!! Casual Encounters Of The 3rd Kind EP is on it’s way. With Flexx released earlier this month and Redline a month before that, the album can’t be far from release. Wolgang has been a very strong influence right from the start of my EDM interest. Check out this track. It reminds me very much of that original Wolgang sound. Love that BOUNCE!!! Below the preview for Girl on Boy you can find a youtube video of Wolfgang at Avalon nightclub in LA from last year. Looks f*&king dooope!!
GTA and LA Riots recently put this track up for free download. Lana Del Rey (vocals – also, featured as this weeks cover art) recently put out her first EP. Check it out here – http://www.lanadelrey.com/music. It’s far from EDM however, I really do like what GTA and LA Riots did with her work.

It’s been a while since I went to Hype Machine to look for tunes. I used to go there daily to find all the latest tracks. It is after all where all (or at least most) of the blogs on the net get pooled. It was once it became too popular that the charts got mixed up with all this other kind of music that I really wasn’t interested in hearing. Well anyways, I went back there the other day and found this. It’s far from “banger” but its got a sick-ass groove to it. The vocals along with that mellow guitar riff make this song amazing.
I hope you all enjoyed what I brought to the table this week. See you all again next week! You can reach me at globalmusic@djmag.ca and can follow me on Twitter @DJSlinn, Facebook or SoundCloud.
