The Drop 014

May 13, 2012

Hey guys! Ahhhh my favorite part of the week has come. Sometimes I don’t get around to researching some new music, which can make me sad, but then it comes time to write this blog and I getrrr done and I’m then reminded why I love music so much!

Last week I showed all of you a track by Diplo called Express Yourself. Friggin dope. Check it out if you missed last week’s post. This week I’ve got even more Diplo for you. This first track is an original by Alex Clare. Who is Alex Clare? I didn’t know before stumbling upon this one either. He is a British song-writer from London, England. This track has apparently been #1 for the last two weeks on the German charts. That’s pretty sick Alex! How does this connect to Diplo you ask? Well, he produced it. Be sure to check out the rest of Alex Clare’s album here!

More from Alex Clare’s new album are two fresh remixes of another track called Up All Night. The first one is by Skream. It sounds pretty eerie at first. Then the drum samples come through … daaaaaaamnn. Drum ‘n bass?

The second remix is by Nadastrom. He takes Alex’s soothing vocals and throws on a sweet moombahton beat. Try not to move to either of these … good luck.

Comin’ back to Diplo, have you heard that song called Climax by Usher? Man, that guy can sing. This song is also produced by Diplo. It would seem he is investing his time in all the right places and making music not limited to a single genre. Pretty sick Diplo. The first remix I’ve got for you is one I found a couple weeks ago. It’s by Keys N Krates. I covered them in a post maybe a month or two ago. Theses guys are sick. Check out their SoundCloud if you like what you hear. The second remix is one I literally JUST found right before I wrote this post. It starts of really slow then about a minute in you get the vocal drop and build. At 1:35 it drops SOOOOO efffing hard! Ugggghhhh. So, so good! Damn you Raf Riley! Why can’t I produce tunes like you?!?! Haha. You can also find the original version of Climax at the bottom.

This next one is gonna be big. It just has that epic feel that you know if going to be played at many-a-rave in the near future. For one, you’ve got Miike Snow. Amazing. Two, Thomas Gold. Also amazing. Three, it’s being released on Axtone records (Axwell’s record label). One + two + three = … well, you can do the math. And no, the answer I’m pointing to is not six haha.

Have you heard of the track called We Are Young by Fun.?I have been looking so hard for a good remix of this song! As you can tell by my writing, I have found one. Yesss! It’s made by the one and only Betatraxx. I first heard of them when I used to listen a lot of music coming from www.gottadancedirty.com. I still think they’re great, it’s just I think their musical interests changed a bit or the bloggers changed which moved a little away from my interest, however please don’t hesitate to check em out still! In either case check out the remix below! (Original video posted below)
