Because Chi-town veteran Gene Hunt was probably a prefect at the ‘old school’, to call this release such feels like a statement of the desperately obvious. The bass bubbles, the stabs of funk drop under staccato machine rhythms. But it’s Theo Parrish’s take on the warehouse theme which will leave you breathless. How he does it remains a mystery, but Parrish smashes it here once again with a stuttering, ostentatiously funky interpretation. You very much need this in your life.
