Welcome back to The Breakdown. Today, I’m bringing to you a couple different new Single EPs!

The first is from from Calgary, Alberta’s own, McTwist, that came out on March 9th on Breakz R Boss Records entitled Dream 2 Step. FUNKY BREAKS! The EP is 5 tracks long – consisting of one Original Mix and four additional remixes. Right now the EP is sitting at #24 on Beatport in the Breaks :: Top 100 Releases chart. Since the late 90′s, McTwist has evolved a sound over the years to one that is distinctly his own. His musical background has allowed him to pick up DJing easily and he is taking his gift and running with it.

Ryan Krawec (McTwist) has held residencies all over Calgary and most recently a monthly event named “Pistol Whip” with one of the best female DJs Calgary has to offer, Molly-Fi and has played shows over all over North America. He has DJ’d along side the likes of The Freestylers, Deekline, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Aphrodite, A-Trak, Robb G and many others. This guy sure knows how to make your booty shake.

For the past 6 years, Ryan has hosted an internet radio show on www.NuBreaks.com which has now also expanded to www.the-lost-art.com. This show is broadcast all over the planet and has recently received recognition from the world breakbeat community by being nominated for Best Radio Show in the Breakspoll awards. His work in the studio has produced several of his own releases and remixes on Breakz R Boss records, Crux, Rapid Fire Records. McTwist is constantly working on new material and has new music coming out all the time. Things are about to blow up and you will want to be near this cat when they do.

Out today on Provoke, Toronto’s own, Damn Kids has just released his Choke EP. This EP is also five tracks long – one Original Mix and four Remixes. Choke is a massive Electro House tune with heavy bass the whole way through. The second drop in the track takes it to a whole other level – check it out and see what I mean! Damn Kids is a producer with a passion worth watching grow. Stephane Deschenes‘ (Damn Kids) career is young, and his list of achievements is short; but he has found something that takes other artists decades to develop; a sound of his own.
