Seasons Music Festival

This week we are back in Canada and heading west to talk about Seasons Electronic Music Festival in Vancouver, presented by reputable Blueprint Events. Taking place for the first time last year, Seasons is already helping push electronic music to the forefront in western Canada. The team behind this distinguished event has played a significant role in this growth by continuously presenting many of the biggest names in the industry. For 15 years Blueprint Events has strived to put together the best electronic music productions in the Vancouver area and beyond. Seasons 2012 is yet another example of the focus and dedication this company has for helping grow electronic dance music in Canada.

Blueprint presented the inaugural event on the 22nd of April 2011 at the Vancouver Convention Center and announced it as the first instalment of a yearly series highlighting some of the world’s best DJs. Seasons 2011 was very well received, a huge crowd gathered from all over the west coast as DJ Timeline opened up the floor for the international headliners to come. Lazy Rich then took the stage with his heavy electro bass lines, followed by Felguk with their distinct electro style to pump up the fans. Next up was Laidback Luke, known for blowing the crowds away with his hair raising drops and unique sounds, he did not disappoint. To say the least, the mood was set perfectly for Calvin Harris to take the stage and throw down a massive set. Calvin’s bouncy style closed out the party seamlessly and Seasons Electronic Music Festival was born.

This year’s main event takes place on Saturday the 7th of April, though Blueprint will be building up the vibe starting on the 5th, with Seasons associated parties taking place throughout the week. On Thursday the kickoff bash will blow open the festivities as Cazzette from Sweden headlines the show at Venue nightclub with their signature “Dub House” sounds. Aki Nair and JP Valdes will open the night before the Swedish duo kicks the tempo into high gear. The pre party on Friday night will set the tone further with a headlining performance by AN21, yet another Swede and the brother of Steve Angello, this young sensation has quickly risen to fame playing sets in some of the largest electronic music venues across the globe. The fans at Celebrities nightclub will enjoy opening sets courtesy of two talented up and coming DJs from the Vancouver area, Mar!no and Dre Morel. Paired with AN21’s high energy melodic productions this party is sure to have Vancouver buzzing and prepare everyone for what is to come. Blueprint Events have put together this awesome show as an appreciation night for all their supporters and are offering it at no charge to everyone. Its first come first served, so get onto the guest list here before it’s too late.

This year, the festival’s main event once again takes place at the world renowned waterfront venue. The beautifully appointed Vancouver Convention Center is perched over the harbour and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Thousands of people are expected to gather in this elegant downtown building for yet another legendary Blueprint event. A local club resident and award winning DJ, Timeline will start things off with his intoxicating rhythms and energy packed mixes. Three international superstars Armin van Buuren, Steve Angello, and special guest Morgan Page will be ready to blow the roof off with energy. Morgan, the special guest artist fresh off a highly successful sold out North American tour, will be bringing his popular progressive remixes and unique style for all the lucky fans in attendance and will set the pace for the world famous headlining acts to come. Armed with his roster of mega hits, Angello is bound to throw down a huge set packed with fan favourites. Now ranked 23rd on DJmag’s Top 100 DJs Poll, this Swedish superstar has a distinct up beat style that never disappoints. Armin van Buuren is a legend of electronic dance music, plain and simple. He is currently no.2 in the DJmag Poll after recently stepping down from an unprecedented four years atop the rankings. His radio show “A State of Trance” now has over 15 million listeners from all around the world and he has played for fans at nearly every large venue the industry has to offer. Always a delight to hear, his gripping trance melodies will have the fans in awe as he performs a set of monumental proportions. Once the show ends, ample time will remain for the planned after party going down at Celebrities nightclub featuring an intriguing mystery guest lineup, will you be there to see the tricks up Blueprint’s sleeve?

The whole week would not be complete without an official closing party. The capable Celebrities nightclub will host a bass heavy lineup of electro and dubstep artists planned for Sunday night. DJ Bullet Bill and DJ Elonious will warm up the dancefloor for the crunchy sounds of popular UK artists Gemini and KOAN Sound. This event not only concludes the 2012 iteration of Seasons Festival but also closes out Gemini and KOAN Sound’s own UKF North American tour which is currently underway.

Stepping it up yet again, and continuing on their quest to bring the biggest names to the Vancouver area, Blueprint Events is evidently running the EDM scene on the west coast. This ambitious company will likely continue to impress for years to come.
