Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the first installment of The Drop.

My name is Scott “DJ” Slinn. I have a passion for EDM and I love to share it! I’ll be bringing you the latest and greatest EDM every Sunday including my favourite electro, house, mash-ups and the occasional dubstep bangers from around the world. This week’s post features tracks by Promise Land, Kaskade, Gregori Klosman, Betatraxx, Tristan Garner and Tiesto. If you’re looking specifically for Canadian music look to the The Breakdown every Monday and Thursday.

First up is a bootleg by an Italian duo by the name of Promise Land who recently made their 10-year mark on the EDM scene. They take Red Hot Chili Peppers classic Californication with its oh so soothing vocals and turn it into a slamming electro banger. Check this one out and turn up the bass… You will not be disappointed!

I don’t know about you guys but from what I can tell Kaskade has been dropping bomb after bomb since I started listening to him two years ago. Not only does he produce his own music but he takes pride in playing other people’s tunes, not to mention praising others for making remixes of his stuff. The single “Room For Happiness featuring Skylar Grey” which was released off Kaskade’s latest EP Fire and Ice was just re-released with several remixes featuring Gregori Klosman, Pixl, Feenixpawl, Misto & Pizzi and Pixel Cheese. My personal favorite is the remix by the Paris-born Gregori Klosman. It preserves Skylar’s sexy vocals while adding in that certain dirty sounding synth needed to get the crowd raving.

This one is for all you electro-house fans. Some straight up Dutch synths utilizing some basic but entrancing melodies. Gregori Klosman went big on this one but Betatraxx took something great and made it even better! Be sure to look out for Klosman’s official remix of Lady Gaga’s “Americano” which is due to be released soon! On a side note listen to one of my favorite tracks by Klosman in collaboration with Tristan Garner “Fuckin Down”. Every Body’s FUCKIN DOWN!!!

Speaking of Tristan Garner, he’s been killing it over the past year with at least a few tracks on the Beatport top 10 including Bounce, Raven, and Stronger. I just came across this remake of yet another classic. Tristan took that timeless Tiesto melody and threw a new house beat on top to give it that extra kick. Underneath the post for Traffic you’ll find a mash-up with Kaskade’s “Move For Me” vocals laid on top. Nice work DJ Untz!!! Also, the mash-up is a free download. ENJOY!
