EVEN though it’s situated above, and owned by, the 500-capacity party den Neidklub, Baasaal is very much regarded as a separate club; first of all due its detached door policy and, secondly, because its music policy is totally different. Favouring deeper vibes over Neidklub’s more brash, electro-facing flavour, Baasaal has invited DJ Koze, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Nina Kravizm, Henrik Schwarz, Steve Bug and Steffi to play in recent months. Chris Gruber and Eurokai (of Liebe*Detail) are residents and the venue runs a techno label – das ist gut, ya?
